There’s always a few new brands that emerge off the runway during fashion week/month. Last season it was  Marques Almeida, a London-based brand known for its cool, off kilter, frayed denim pieces. This season it’s recent Parsons grad Sandy Liang‘s imaginative fur coats.

There’s a gorilla quality to Liang’s coats, which feature an interesting amalgamation of different fabrics, shapes, and colors. The coats are definitely playful, something I’m really starting to appreciate about clothes, but also sophisticated. And I must say, pink coats (along with Sorels, Adidas Stans, and neon beanies) are currently on my my ubiquitous-items-that-I-don’t-want-to-see-again list. But Liang’s pink coats felt new, refreshing. They made me laugh and they made me look (and I mean that in the best way possible).
