10 Pieces To Buy On Cyber Monday

Black Crane jumpsuit

Sales season is great (duh), but it can be overwhelming. I find myself happily clicking away only to not buy anything because I’m not sure what to buy. So I’ve created rules or boundaries to focus my shopping. I haven’t bought anything yet, but I’m going to only consider shoes that I can commute in and wear all year long. That should ensure that I’m not wasting my money. We’ll see.

But as I’ve browsed, I’ve come across some wardrobe workhorses. Pieces you will wear over and over and over. Promise. And they are all under $300. First up is this Black Crane jumpsuit (pictured above). It’s $188, down from $245, and it’s CONVERTIBLE! Meaning, you can separate the top from the jumpsuit. It’s worth it.  Click through for nine more worthy pieces.

Adam Lippes crop top

I don’t think crop tops are trendy at this point. Especially for me since I frequently accentuate my waist. And this Adam Lippes one (originally $440, now $176) is special. Why? That back zipper detail. It’s also work and weekend appropriate.
10 Crosby Derek Lam blouseThe right silk collared blouse will take you far. Especially as you enter the holiday party season. A collared blouse with a festive skit or trouser just works. This 10 Crosby Derek Lam shirt (originally $325, now $137.40) is a nice option.

3.1 Phillip Lim pantsReasons why these 3.1 Phillip Lim denim pants (originally $275, now $169) are great: This utility green color is so versatile. These wide cuffs are so cute. This loose fit is so appealing.

Demy Lee Peyton Cardigan

Whenever J. Crew has a sale, and they have them often, you should start with the other labels they carry (like Apiece Apart or Nili Lotan). The retailer recently added Demy Lee, a knitwear brand, to the roster, and this ivory sweater ($304, down to $179) is good.

AYR Ciggy jeans

I own a pair of AYR jeans and as cliche as it sounds, they fit me like a glove. Their jeans have just the right amount of stretch, but they never loose their shape. I don’t wear cropped jeans, they don’t work for my shape, but I love the idea of pairing AYR’s Ciggy jean (originally $165, down to $67) with a flat boot and chunky socks.

Diemme sneaker

I just discovered Diemme, an Italian brand that makes hiking-inspired sneakers and boots, and I’m particularly drawn to these grey felt ones, which are now $270, and were originally $385).

Acne Dixie sweater

Oh, Acne. This brand continuously creates wardrobe workhorses that are functional and interesting (as evidenced by this Dixie wool sweater, which is now $240, down from $400).

Maison Scotch coat

The perfect tailored coat, like this one from Maison Scotch (originally $325, down to $159), can instantly transform an outfit. Also, this soft blue color is one of those deceiving shades that can easily be a neutral.

See by Chloe boots

And I’d thought I’d end the list off with a trusty pair of black boots (originally $385, now $231). When I first moved to New York, I bought a pair of See by Chloe sandals for around $400, which was quite pricey for me then (and now) but I don’t regret the purchase at all. They’ve held up nicely over the past six years and I still look forward to wearing them each summer.
